About José Gregorio Hernández

Known as the “Doctor of the Poor,” José Gregorio Hernández (1864–1919) was a Venezuelan physician and devout Catholic who dedicated his life to serving the sick and needy, especially those without resources. He combined his medical knowledge with profound faith, generosity, and humility. In 2021, he was beatified by the Catholic Church, bringing him closer to sainthood and spreading devotion worldwide, particularly among Latin American communities.

About the Artist – EDO (Eduardo Sanabria)

Eduardo Sanabria, known as EDO, is a Venezuelan artist and internationally recognized cartoonist. His vibrant and meaningful work has been exhibited in Caracas, Miami, Milan, Seoul, and Shanghai. EDO is widely admired for his ability to capture cultural identity and humor in creative, impactful designs. This T-shirt features his original artwork created especially for this parish initiative.

Purpose

All proceeds from the sales of these T-shirts will be donated to support the painting of the mural in honor of Saint José Gregorio Hernández at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish.
